Hi, To all my fellow Jackson Generals. I thought I would get this ball rolling as to what has been going on in some of our lives for the last 40 yrs. Due to some circumstances beyond my control, I have yet to get to a Class Reunion.

Well let's see, I have been married for 37 yrs.to my husband Richard. I
have 3 children Kristi (34) who has a son (9)
J. D. and a daughter (22 mos.) Emma, My son Richard (32) has a son (8) Richie, and my son
Jason (29) has a daughter (5) Erin and a son (3) Garrett.

I was a stay at home Mom until my youngest was in kindergarten. I went to work for the Post Office in 1982 in Jacksonville, Fla. as a Rural Letter Carrier, I also taught a class for new people coming into the Rural craft, and worked on Rural Route Adjustments (forming new routes in high growth areas). I did this for 23 yrs. and it was a job I loved and a very rewarding career. I am a breast cancer survivor of 5 yrs. now, after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, followed by surgery, 6 mos. of chemotherapy and 37 radiation treatments. The doctors say I am good as new and I hope they know what they are talking about. I am now enjoying my retirement, as of September 30, 2005 and getting to spend more time with my grandchildren. Some days I do nothing, sleeping in is something which I find to be a treat now, since I had to be at work at 6:30 a.m. Other days I am totally busy and wonder how I ever got anything accomplished when I was working.

We moved from Jacksonville to a small town in Ga. about 4 yrs. prior to my retirement, Folkston, home of the Okefenokee swamp. We are still within a 45 minute drive of Jacksonville, but are out of all the hustle and bustle of busy city life.

I wasn't the belle of the ball in high school hee, hee.........but my life has certainly been an interesting ride. It is very hard for me to believe I will be 62 in February as I am certain it is for all of you as well. How fortunate we are to be alive during such great technology that we have now in medicine, etc.

I hope all of you have found some happiness in your life, because that's what it's all about.

With God's grace there are some of us who will be able to see what the next 40 yrs. will hold.

O.K. NEXT.................
